A couple days ago, however, not such a sweetie. Maddox doesn't like it when we leave, in fact he tries everything he can to wiggle his nose on through to get out and go with us. We started throwing a dog biscuit to distract him as we ran out the door. We thought it was brilliant. Now when he REALLY wants to go with us, biscuits aren't good enough, we throw a hole handful and he simply looks at them and puts his nose back to the door. So we have to up the game to Beggin' strips. That's working for now, but I don't think it will last.
So, we had one of those nights, that he didn't want us to go. We got him distracted and I was heading out the door and he just plowed into me, knocked me to the ground. I was crawling to the stairs where I could sit as Tyler was screaming at Maddox who was running away. After probably too long, I got up, got some beggin' strips, added peanut butter (sweetin the deal) and headed out to help. Maddox ran right too me like the sweetie he is. Tyler wasn't so happy. He had chased Maddox, at a full sprint, down the street. Maddox was looking at every door, fence and garage for an escape route. Finally, about 4 houses down, the garage was open. He ran in and was nudging at the door when Tyler caught up to him. I can only image if the door was open . . . we really need the training.
I have a new favorite show and a new favorite character. Cougar town - and the horse dog named Travis. At the end is an all too familiar way of driving. She just must be unskilled, I've never ended up in a pool.
