X-rays bringing bad news

We had some bad news today. Abby got spayed and while she was under, they xray'd her elbow and teeth. She's been limping for a few months now and we finally found the problem. She has elbow dysplasia. We have to go see an orthopedic surgeon in Sun Valley to remove a piece of cartilage that isn't forming into bone like it should (or some such nonsense that = pain for my little girl and our pocketbook). She also had X-rays of her broken canine, well the tip had broken off. It exposed the pulp and she has to get a root canal. Also from a specialist and all the other negatives of the other surgery.

On the other hand, this little puppy is the sweetest thing ever. I'm just happy that we found what is wrong with her before worse things happen!

Spread Eagle

When we bought our couches, I added a chaise to one side - something I've always wanted. It has, however, been taken over by sweet Abby. On days I work, the puppies sleep about 6 hours or more and she is always there on the chaise. She sleeps so funny, on her back - spread eagle. Cracks me up. 

 

Crazy rabid squirrel

There was a crazy squirrel in our back yard today. Maddox and Abby were having so much fun chasing it back and forth along the fence. Everytime they would get distracted it made this weird chirping noise, and if that didn't work, it would pop it's head up and they pursue again.

Abby caught air. I had to bring them in because I was just waiting for one of them to jump over and take out the fence trying.

What exactly are they looking at?

Bored Puppies and a busy me.

It's' been hard adjusting to working as much as I have lately. I would say it's hardest on the puppies, but I think it's a little hard on me. I just feel so bad, because on the days Tyler works too, they are so BORED.   But I am exhausted. I love natural light and hate having to use my lights, but when the weather is crappy it's either use the lights or don't shoot. I choose the don't shoot option a few too many times, and now I'm down to the wire. Smart I know. 

Abby is handful. She is just plain wild. We are realizing that Maddox was a SAINT!!! She has a bit more devil in her. Right now her big problem is food. She wakes us up at 7 (or lately 5:30 or 6) to eat without fail. She just lays down and cries. So it's either make her wait and don't sleep or feed her and go back to sleep. She jumps up on the counter if she knows there is food up there. Doesn't matter though - I love our little devil girl!

I put Harrison up on the table to shoot him. When I try to shoot him on the ground he gets too excited and come running toward me to give me kisses - which is why I have so fewer pictures of Harrison. I was shooting a while before I noticed that he was completely shaking. Something between being up high and having Abby down below trying to get him scared him??? Which is why in this picture he looks terrified!!

Maddox hates me working more than any of them. If I am in the office he just sits outside the door and cries. It's a real tragedy when I'm working and Tyler is in here working on his homework. He just loves to be close to us. At night when we are sitting on the couch, we extend the recliners and he lays in between us. 

Puppy Play

We finally have good weather for the puppies to play out on the green green grass. I was wrapping presents all afternoon and the puppies enjoyed the wrapping paper roll. On a side note, why is wrapping paper so thin? I had to wrap everything twice so that you couldn't see exactly what you just wrapped. It's either that or you buy a blank box. RIDICULOUS!!!!

I love this, Abby was just walking along and BAM Maddox got her.

Harrison is content to just watch from the deck. 

cuddle time

Abby has taken up cuddling with Maddox. No matter where he is at, she finds him and lays down right next to him. I think he likes it!

Something about treats

Something about using treats to get puppies to look at the camera makes the tongues come out!

A few more

I just love how her face smooshes when she lays down. 

They are the best of friends.

Without anything specific to do - Abby choose to chew on the couch. Typical.

You might think Maddox is looking adoringly at his little sister, but I think he's contemplating how to steal the bone from her.
