A boy and his dog

I put Wyatt on the grass today. He was more interested in the grass that looking up at me, but I still got some cute pictures. He loves to giggle and look away. This boy is just either happy as can be or absolutely loosing it. There is little in between.

Maddox loves Wyatt. Judging by the smile, but feeling is mutual.

Rice cereal

I have been so excited to make the babies homemade baby food. I know it will save me a ton of money, I know exactly what goes into their food, and I get a food processor out of the deal. I jumped the gun during a shopping trip this week and bought sweet potatoes and avacados. Both are considered great first foods. BUT that is when you start at 6 months. The babes are only five and a half months old so I decided to start with rice cereal.

I felt like Wyatt was more ready than Ellie. He grabs at things more and puts them in his mouth. He also seems more interested in what we are eating. Ellie is just such a laid back baby that it's hard to tell.

We stripped them down to their diapers and they were excited.

Because of the arsenic scare last year in rice cereal I was nervous to try it. So I decided to go with the organic cereal. It was still only 2.30 a box, not too bad and its whole grain instead of white rice. The box said to mix it with 4 to 1 breast milk to cereal. It was really really runny.

Since Wyatt seemed more ready we started with him. I'm pretty sure he's looking at me like mom, why would you do that? He had a scowl on his face almost the entire time, but he kept eating so it couldn't have been all bad.

Ellie surprised us by getting just as much (which to be honest wasn't much) in her as Wyatt did.

I'm pretty sure they are talking about how mean mom and dad are. It wasn't a total failure, but I think I'll wait another week before trying it again.

Tiny Humans

Happy babies are the best. We had an adventure today going to my friend Katee's. She is going to watch these littles a day a week so I can see straight. I don't really like the idea of taking them to daycare, so I'm so glad I found a friend who I trust. They didn't do much not to reassure her that twins aren't so bad. Ellie started screaming not long after she started to hold her. Not the whiny cry she normally gets, but SCREAMING. She hasn't done that for a month or more. It took about 15 minutes to calm her down and only after gas drops and a big belch. Very ladylike. Then Wyatt woke up and started whining so we fed them a bottle. Which Ellie wouldn't take because she has decided she doesn't like bottles. Wyatt drank every last drop and cried for more. He's a champ. Ellie spit up on Katee's couch. Wyatt starts turning red . . . and grunting. This happens only like once a week mind you, and it has to happen during this visit. Luckily she still wants to watch them and I get to work like a mad woman one day a week with no babies riding on my hip. Hopefully they are better behaved next week.

The babies LOVE each other. They just stare at each other and smile and talk. About who knows what, but it seems very interesting.

5 Months Old Today

I'm not sure how it happened, but Wyatt and Ellie turned 5 months today. Just in the last week they have become so much more active and interactive. I still need to shoot their 5 month pictures, but today is a work day and we stay in our jammies on a work day.

Ellie is so precious. She just wants to be held. She isn't much of a snuggler except when she's exhausted because she wants to look around and explore. She has turned into the most calm and sweet baby. The first few months she was quite the drama queen, but now she is so happy. At church she was so sweet and let someone hold her while I was filling out a paper. Ellie was smiling and gooing at her the entire time.

Wyatt on the other hand went from our chill dude to not so chill. I think he might have reflux or just really bad gas bubbles. He has spells of crying that feel never ending, but probably only last 15 minutes or so. When you can't calm him down it feels like eternity. He is also turning into a mamma's boy. On occasion during his crying spells when Tyler hands him to me he calms down. It makes Tyler feel bad, but makes me feel like a million bucks! I've noticed the start of stranger awareness in him already as well.  He's also my snuggler, always has been.

This activity mat has been the most used and greatest thing in the world. When they were little they would just stare at the toys, but now they swat at the toys. Just this week they started to bring the toys to their mouths. They are experts at kicking the sides so that the lights and sounds will go off at the top of the activity mat.

We still depend on the swings every day. Ellie loves to watch the lights on her swing. She just stares up at them. If they turn off and she's still awake then she lets us know! Wyatt has mostly ignored his mobile until recently. Now he has been giggling at the monkeys. To be fair, this boy is giggling constantly. It's adorable.

Splish Splash

I haven't picked up my "real" camera nearly enough with these new babies and I decided to just leave it out on the counter with a card in it ready to shoot. I love my camera phone, but it just doesn't do justice.

I love bath time. It's one of my favorite times of the day. I know they say to do it at night but I don't. After their first nap we do baths. Its a quiet part of the day. Wyatt usually wakes up before Ellie anyway so he always goes first. He's really

I was heartbroken when Wyatt's hair fell out. But coming in strong is this BLONDE hair. I never thought I'd have a blonde haired baby, but I sure do. Also look at those cheeks. I can't get enough of them. He's just the sweetest little cubby bubby.

Little miss Ellie bellie doesn't quite get the bath as much as Wyatt. She is starting to kick but doesn't do it with the gusty Wyatt does. She is just so observant, that she likes to watch as I clean dishes and talk to her. But she keeps her hands clenched like that. I think it makes her feel more comfortable.

So that's been happening . . .

I'm back . . . here's what you missed.

Tyler got promoted and transferred, so we moved to Idaho Falls. We found out we were having TWINS!!!! Holy crap is right. I got sick, like throw up every day sick and eventually bedrest. But it was all worth it because at 33 weeks and 6 days we had two very beautiful babies. Wyatt Lynn and Ellie Jane. They spent 16 days in the NICU. Tyler got transfered back to Meridian, so we bought a house in Middleton. We moved. Now we are all caught up.

I might go back and catch up, but for now there is our life for the last year.

Abby not eating a cookie

I was looking for some files in Cricut Holiday folder and found these images. She is always so helpful. I LOVE my studio, but I do miss having my puppies with me when I'm shooting.
